Thursday: Starting to Write
In Starting to write it was reaviled that we have a folder to complet before christmas. Okay so we had the information before but our tutor hadn't mentioned it. I'm working under the general premis that untill it is mentioned I don't need to do it.
Not exactly logical I know.
The lesson iself was talking about character.
Friday: Language & Society
Finished off warring words I suppose I should start my essay.

Sixtieth Day
IT for writers today focused on photo shop it seems like quite a good program. I am in no doubt that the Gimp can probably do everything that photo shop can. I attempted to take Teal'c's tattoo and place it on Ainsley Harriot. It worked to begin with then something when wrong, can't say what and I lost it. In any case it was good to get to know a new system, I'll get by brother to teach it to me. With some work I could probably become quite proficiant.
Then was scriptwriting. We talked about summaries and pitches for a script. It is strange but just outlining my story helped me to focus the theme of my story. While I would not claim to be able to write like Asimov or Clarke I think I've got my script theme down. To be basic it is about people being lost in a world where it is next to impossible. The Star Trek Original series episode: For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky, is quite a good example of what I'm trying to do. The story is set in a geodesic dome which is the only habitable place on the planet.
I will see how it goes.

Fifty-ninth Day
In American Short Story we went over the essay, on of the ones due in before christmas. I think I now have a clear idea of how to do the essay now. Luckyly there is a certain amount of freedom, so we can be selective and only use the stories that we liked. I have a fair idea of what I'm going to do which I will embark on soon. (Maybe even tomorrow.)
Tomorrow is IT for writers and Scriptwriting. They are both quite fun.

Fifty-eighth Day
Today was writing media. Our usual teacher was away, but this teacher was actully quite interesting. She had quite a different style to her lesson, we sat in a group and although we got a good amout of work done we also were abkle to discuss more than with our regular teacher. We are currently in the process of assembling our items for the next assesment. I have a fair idea what I'm going to do. The great thing is that we have almost complete freedom. There is a world limit, but we can submit one piece or many as long as they add up to the limit.
The bad: I have two essays due in before Christmas (Three in total) I think they will be eminently do able they just won't nessesarily be interesting.

Fifty-seventh Day
Another strange Sunday.
On Sundays I feel I should just relax. Problem is I'm not sure what to do on a Sunday.
Anyway got a bit of work done and went to the shops to get the essentials. (Chocolate and Yogurt and a couple of other things.)
In the evening I popped into Smiths. I've come up with and great way of not spending too much money there, don't take much! Elegant in its simplicity.
Still lost on the machines though.
The quiz was quite good, my team didn't win. - Nor did I win at the bingo - still fun though.

Firfty-fifth and Firty-sixth Day
Friday was the last day of reading week. Got quite a good amount of work done and am now in a good position to begin my essays. I think I might be spending a lot of time in the LCR next week.
Went to Smiths, the union pub, on the Friday evening. If it had a busy period I managed to miss it completely. I went down at about seven and then again at 10ish and both times it was almost completely empty.
Saturday was a strange day. Got up rather late and the day seemed to be over very quickly. However got work done.
On both evenings I went down to Smiths and played on the games machine...gambling bad.

Fifty-fourth Day
The penultimate day of reading week. Got a good amount of work done today. Haven't actually embarked on the essays yet, but then there is other work to be going on with.
I know essay in the plural is scary!
Also managed to fill the kitchen with smoke! Just by the application of sausages. The plastic container melted and with a strong punch the sausages would have turned to dust, like so many vampires.
Tomorrow the last day of reading week.
